Welcome to my blog, or as I like to call it: my online playground. I’m addicted to lovely things and strongly believe that there’s always more than meets the eye. So put on your magic goggles and take this trip with me.

Paradise found

So last weekend we booked a little trip to this stunning tropical paradise. By the end of October we will be backpacking our way through coffee plantations, riding classic cars, smoking cigars and sipping mojitos. Can you guess where we're going :-)?

To be hip or not to be hip?

For the latest issue of Kwintessens I wrote an article about the hipster subculture. A cool, progressive group of young people, yet nobody really wants to identify themselves with this movement. Being called a 'hipster' is for many a cheap insult, a name for shallow and insincere trend-followers. But is it really that bad? Don't hipsters have one authentic bone in their body? And also: are hipsters still hip in 2015?

To get my questions answered, I had a little chat with Ellen Anthoni from Trendwolves and with Toon from Broer Bretel, this amazing coffee place at 't Eilandje in Antwerp. You can read all about it in the new Kwintessens :-).

Vipp Shelter

When you say Vipp, design lovers from all over the world will instantly bring the most iconic pedal bins to mind. But from now on, this talented Danish company will also be remembered for something way more large-scale. Vipp recently created the perfect getaway in the rugged nature of Copenhagen. A minimalist shelter built of solid materials and at the same time showing off a clean aesthetic with mainly dark tones.

Also, everything you see inside this shelter is Vipp. So much so that the furniture, appliances, tableware, lamps, towels, bed linens and even the toilet brush breathe the brand's DNA. You can go and get inspired by the prefab concept in Copenhagen or just order your own little shelter for 485,000 euros. If I had a small piece of land somewhere in the outback of Belgium, I could definitely live like this.
